De absolute elite van Scientology wordt gevormd door de 'Sea Organization'. De levensomstandigheden van de meeste Sea Org leden zijn zo mogelijk nog belabberder dan die van gewone stafleden (klik hier voor het vertrouwelijke staf-contract).

Ook bij de 'org'(anisatie) te Amsterdam doet men aan werving voor de Sea Org. Erg succesvol is men er gelukkig niet in. Dat is te begrijpen want om tot de elite te mogen toetreden, moet je huis en haard achter laten - je moet je, zonder weg terug, volledig storten in het bevrijden ('clearen') van deze planeet. Een stap die zelfs voor toegewijde scientologen wat groot is. Je tekent namelijk niet voor 'maar' 2,5 of 5 jaar, zoals bij de 'orgs', nee, je stelt je beschikbaar voor de "next billion years". Zie het contract dat hieronder staat.

     Het ziet er naar uit dat er iemand bij de 'org' is die denkt dat het tegenwoordig niet meer nodig is om bepaalde deuren op slot te doen - dit in het kader van de nieuwe openheid die Scientology zegt na te streven. :-) Het contract komt namelijk rechtstreeks uit de 'Hubbard Communications Office' - dit volgens een ex-staflid aan wie ik heb gevraagd waar het wordt bewaard (HCO is één van de meest gerespecteerde en dus bekrompen afdelingen binnen Scientology).

De tekst en de scan van het contract + het 'Application Form' betreffen de Europese versies (die vrijwel hetzelfde zijn als de Amerikaanse).

Het 'Application Form' (sollicitatie formulier) is bedoeld om globaal te kunnen beoordelen of iemand geschikt is voor de elite. Daarna volgt de echte beoordeling, als je tenminste in potentie waardig bent bevonden. Hiertoe moet je het 'Life History Form' invullen. De meeste kandidaten zijn hier dagen mee bezig: alle (ook de meest intieme) details van je leven moet je opschrijven. Het Life History Formulier staat hier.
